Now presenting the birthday cards to go with the above photos of the gifts. All use Stampin Up paper. The top one is soft sky with handmade mexican amate paper and silk flowers with a K&Co brad in the middle. The next two involve Cuttlebug embossing folders combined with various embellishments. The "live life" stamp is Stamper's Anonymous and the martini glass is Mike's Dollar bin. The last card uses a "happy birthday" font from my stamping friend, Razzleberry; Basic Grey DP and stash embellishments. Hope you all enjoy these cards!

Birthday Gifts March 2010
Hello out there in blog land! Here are two projects I whipped out for the birthdays of two friends. The top one is a small photo album and I used a Tim Holtz stamp set along with his distress ink in walnut. The accompanying embellishments are from my stash. The lower one is a small journal type book using designer paper, some Tim Holtz distress ink in fired brick. Both of the recipients loved their gifts!

here is one of my first Dia de los Muertos cards. This is a special time of the year in Mexico, especially Oaxaca and Michoacan. November 1 and 2 is a time to remember those that have gone on before us. Celebrations with the departed's favorite foods and drinks are huge. The graves are decorated with flowers, foods, candies, toys and other reminders of the departed. The food is for the returning spirits to give them strength on their journey back. I will add more cards to this collection in the future.
